QUESTIONS & ANSWERSAsk a Question
I have been testing a Wallmote Quad that I received 28 November. Although barely used, it has needed recharging twice in just those few weeks. I saw mention of a firmware upgrade but am not sure how to check which version the device has. What do you suggest?
Hi, first step is make sure your Wakeup Interval and Polling Settings are large enough. You'll find these on the Settings tab in the device on your Vera.
Wakeup interval and Polling should be at least 10800 (every 3 hours) or longer.
If that doesn't help, let us know. Firmware updates for the Aeotec devices require a USB Z-Stick and Windows PC to perform. The v1.07 firmware which references a battery drain fix has been out since June 2017, any of the AU devices should already have that version firmware as they only became available in September. I have a Quad at home using those Wakeup/Polling intervals and I've only charged it once since I got it in September.
Wallmote simple recharging. How often will this device need charging?
The answer to that depends on a number of factors - how often it's used, is haptic feedback enabled, how often the device is configured for wakeup or polled by your controller.
The short answer is 3-6 months in 'normal' use scenarios is a realistic expectation.
Recharging is via a USB connection, the Wallmote is held magnetically in its holder. Easy to remove and replace.
